Job Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for rice and paddy to ensure a reliable and sustainable supply.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, traders, and farmers to achieve cost savings and secure competitive agreements.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including farmers, rice/paddy traders, and suppliers, to foster trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers to resolve any issues related to supply, quality, or delivery delays.
  • Coordinate with farmers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and supplies are delivered on time.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as warehouse, logistics, quality assurance, and finance to streamline procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize transportation and storage of rice and paddy.
  • Ensure all procured rice and paddy meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement quality control checks and collaborate with the quality assurance team to minimize defects and maintain product integrity.
  • Maintain documentation and records for procurement activities, including supplier contracts, quality reports, and invoices.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement performance, identifying arms for improvement in cost efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget for rice and paddy purchasing.

Job Requirement

  • Any graduate with a strong commercial mindset and a willingness to learn about the bulk cargo trade of paddy and rice.
  • A minimum of 5 years of team management, commercial operations, and industry experience in Myanmar is required. Candidates with prior experience in the rice industry are preferred. The ideal candidate should possess an active, positive, and proactive attitude.
  • Must be able to travel periodically and be open to relocation as needed. • Proficiency in both written and spoken Myanmar and English is essential. Candidates must be skilled in email communication, internet usage, and PowerPoint for reporting purposes.
  • Should have a positive mindset and a hands-on approach, demonstrating a willingness to deeply engage and learn the full rice trade process from farming and harvesting in different regions to understanding post-harvest processes and meeting export commercial requirements.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and build effective teamwork. The candidate should aim to foster a healthy, collaborative, and rewarding career environment for all team members.
